I seem to be having a theme of “home-made” these days and my most recent craze is cleaning. Having a puppy (more blogs to come about puppy!) I don’t think my house has ever been so clean! He isn’t house trained yet so accidents are frequent! We also don’t want this house to become one that people walk into and automatically know we have a dog - nothing worse that a doggy smell.
We have been cleaning with vinegar for a while, its excellent for worktops, skirting boards, bathrooms and floors. Its lovely with a few drops of tea tree oil in, it makes it smell wonderful and is a natural anti bacterial formula.
So all I have done is get an empty spray bottle
6 drops of tea tree
Bicarbonate of soda is another natural cleaning agent, it is great for eliminating smells.
I have placed a little tub with some bicarb in the fridge as being coffee lovers, our fresh coffee can fill the fridge with an over powering smell. After baking cupcakes with flavoured icing and placing them in the fridge, all the icing smelt like coffee! Fail!
I have also made my own shake ‘n’ vac! This was so much fun. I found a tupperware tub which we wouldn’t miss, made some holes in the top, poured in bicarb with some tea tree and voilà! Ready to go! What I like about this is that if I sprinkle it on the floor I have to hoover (hoovering is something I don’t particularly like to do!)
